Who can apply : Organisations (including schools) who have Professionals qualified to work with children with developmental delays (at least one year's experience of working with children with developmental delays on a full-time basis). The professionals must demonstrate competency while working with children with development delays, parent coaching and conducting group sessions. Applying organisations should be able to integrate WHO-CST in their existing intervention model, and would be required to recruit families and conduct parent mediated training on a regular basis (at least twice a year).
CST is a program developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with Autism Speaks. The training program is designed as a “Train the Trainer” model, where professionals working with children with developmental delays, will train parents and caregivers of children (2-9 years) with developmental delays and disorders. It imparts techniques to help the parents with communication, play and behaviour, and helps families to work with and manage their child better and handle their own mental well-being.
